This brief examines the roles Myanmar’s political parties might play in building peace within the country. Ethnic minority parties, for example, could provide a way for those who are politically marginalized to gain a voice. The trick then, however, would be for the parties to promote the interests of their constituents and yet work together. It's this balancing act that would lead to a sustainable peace.
