This article talks about Australia's experimentation with 'bottom-up' integration, where Navy, Army and Air Force personnel operate together on the same vessels. The authors argue that this model of integration could be used by other Western militaries to help deal with austerity. However, they suggest the ability to adopt the model will depend upon the organizational and cultural constraints that exist within these countries' forces.
