This bulletin discusses the popularity of Islamophobic political parties in Europe during a time when Islamic parties are taking power in Arab states. These two trends, the authors contend, might lead to an increasingly extreme polarization of European and Arab societies, which will hinder the shaping of a homogeneous and moderate EU policy towards Europe’s southern neighbors.
