This note provides an overview of the scale and evolving nature of insecurity and armed violence in Nepal. It also looks at the geographical distribution of the insecurity and violence as well as the security responses to it. It concludes that there are reasons for optimism regarding the security situation in Nepal, but also some causes for concern.
