This paper provides a summary of a report's findings concerning international policies that protect and restrict religious freedoms. It suggests that while some governments have gradually permitted a greater degree of religious expression, several cases highlight the continuing practice of highly-restrictive approaches. The report concludes by addressing US Government efforts aimed at enhancing religious freedom throughout the world.
