This paper identifies some of the logistical, technical, legal, and financial problems in destroying abandoned chemical weapons in China. It discusses China's obligations under the Chemical Weapons Conventions (CWC); the location and condition of chemical weapons in China; the complexity of retrieval, storage, and destruction operations; and logistical barriers and costs.
