This book sheds light on regional environmental issues in South Asia, with a particular focus on disaster management. The issues examined range from climate change as a threat multiplier, Bhutan's unique conservation efforts and India's energy scenario to South Asia's level of preparedness to natural disasters and Nepal's disaster risk reduction activities. In addition, the authors discuss Nepal's energy structure in the context of climate change, lessons learnt from Pakistan's 2005 earthquake and the links between natural disasters and man-made disaster situations in Sri Lanka.
