This report reviews the proceedings of the 2012 Africa Regional Consultation on Strengthening Partnerships for Civilian Capacities in the Aftermath of Conflict. The consultation focused on the need to strengthen ties between the UN and its partners in Africa for more effective, demand-led civilian capacities to assist countries in the aftermath of conflict. It also looked at the capabilities of member states and the best ways to apply them over time. Particular attention was paid to discussing the UN’s online platform, Capacity Matching, and how member states can use it to provide essential civilian capacities to post-conflict countries.
