This report by the Developments, Concepts and Doctrines Centre (DCDC), which was commissioned by the UK Ministry of Defence, analyses the key trends in the South Asian region and possible events up to the year 2040. The report discusses the implications of the economic rise of China and India for the international arena, and for the development of the region. Emerging security threats for the region are also examined.
