This "AUSTRAL" issue examines a number of topics in the field of South-South Cooperation. The articles cover topics such as the European experience with economic and monetary union, the Brazilian model of international insertion, strategy behind Brazilian foreign policy, and the impact of China's rise on Brazil's development. In addition, the authors analyze the interfaces between the political and economic process involved in the emergence of the BRICS, the interaction between the mass media and foreign policy in Brazil, southern-based development cooperation, and challenges to revisionist views of colonialism.
