In this opinion piece, the author advocates the creation of a global cyber governance institution. He argues that an international authority is necessary to protect citizens' privacy from being breached by the state, as often happens in the name of national security. He concludes that unique digital age security flaws require action in the international sphere to avoid catastrophe should the system break.
