This brief discusses Japanese historical reconciliation and argues that it should start with Okinawa. The author argues that the people of Okinawa are frustrated with their own government and the US government over the presence of US military bases on their island. He goes on to analyze the Japan-Okinawa relationship and gives recommendations to the Japanese government on how to resolve the issue.
