This commentary discusses the slowdown in the moves to 'complete' the Economic and Monetary Union in the EU. The author argues that the bleak macroeconomic data and the unstable political situation in the southern euro area are reminders that the bloc's problems are far from resolved. He further examines Poland’s perspective on the issue and concludes with recommendations.
