This brief looks at Norway's involvement in Central Asia, especially in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. The authors explain that since its preferred focus on energy development and good governance has yielded limited results, it is now unclear whether Oslo’s engagement with this militarily and politically unstable region will expand in the future or not.
