This paper looks at the challenges posed by Moldova's domestic problems for its relationship with the EU. The author argues that Moldova has made progress in its Association Agreement with the EU. However, she also suggests that its road to the EU is challenged by domestic concerns, such as tensions in the governing alliance, lower public support for European integration and Russia’s re-emerging leverage via Transnistria.
