This issue of the African Journal on Conflict Resolution (AJCR) surveys the origins and prospects for conflict resolution in selected African conflicts. It considers the role of traditional conflict-resolving mechanisms in resource-based inter- and intragroup conflicts, offers a psycho-social perspective on gumaa, an indigenous institution of conflict resolution and justice administration in Ethiopia, and provides insights into theories of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the context of peacebuilding. The issue also includes a discussion on the need for reconciliation, social integration and national healing in Zimbabwe, and offers a book review.
