This policy brief argues that the Canadian government should develop an Arctic Maritime Corridors and Gateways Initiative to help establish its maritime and economic leadership in the ‘New Arctic’. To do this, the author argues, the government will have to invest more in its own High Arctic territory of Nunavut, particularly in its maritime transport infrastructure, fishing industry and tourism sector.
