This working paper maps out the different branches of conservatism in Russian politics during the Putin presidency. The author provides detailed information on the varying viewpoints shaping conservatism in post-communist Russia. The article concludes with a critical discussion of the relationship between the two strands of Russian conservatism and their effect on national development and post-communist transformation since the end of the Soviet Union.
