This report presents the results of a study concerned with finding evidence on possible connections between climate change and US national security issues. It also identifies ways to increase the ability of the intelligence community to take climate change into account in assessing political and social stresses with implications for US national security. The report also offers recommendations related to improving the understanding of climate–security linkages, monitoring, and the ability to anticipate potential security risks arising from climate phenomena.
