This paper addresses the choices facing NATO's nuclear sharing program. More specifically, NATO's dual-capable aircraft are reaching the end of their service lives, meaning that the only platform that NATO shares to carryout a nuclear attack in times of crisis will be decommissioned. This paper continues by describing how much longer the aircraft can be expected to serve before being replaced, and the three options available to NATO in dealing with its aging fighter-bomber aircraft, namely replacement, extension or divestment.
