This paper discusses the Climate Action Plan announced by President Obama on June 25, 2013. The plan aims to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (GHG) as well as encourage adaptation to expected climate change. The author presents the three pillars of the plan - cutting carbon pollution, preparing the US for the impacts of climate change, and leading international efforts to address global climate change - and discusses the implications of the plan for the US Congress.
