This paper examines transatlantic relations between the United States and the European Union. The author emphasizes the differences between international hegemony and global dominance and describes the politics of the Bush administration as unilateral power projection responsible for the deterioration in transatlantic relations. The paper emphasizes the need to repair US-European relations and argues that both sides must make important contributions to such a process.
