The paper examines the issue of women and Islamic radicalization within the context of Muslim societies and social groups in Asia and Africa. The author argues that Islamic feminism with its gender-egalitarian discourse and practices has a major role to play in the empowerment of Muslim women and society as a whole, and should hence be more prominently brought to bear in devising policy, strategy, and concepts for social development.
