This brief discusses the impact of the Arab Spring on NGO operations in Egypt. The author argues that, despite the hopes of Egyptian civil society and the international community, the Arab Spring has limited NGO activities and made it easier for government to control them. The paper concludes by advocating support by the European Union, including Poland, in creating a transparent NGO law and information campaign.
