This brief argues that policy makers and business leaders dealing with or within China need to take account of possible future economic and social instability in the country. It therefore suggests that they should plan and implement contingency measures that would enhance the resilience of vulnerable countries and systems in the event of such instability. It also includes a number of recommendations for such measures.
