This paper talks about the debate over the link between secure property rights and economic growth. It suggests that while there is a large body of evidence that supports this link, other studies have questioned it by, for example, suggesting that factors other than property rights are of prime importance for growth. The report concludes by suggesting several areas which analysts need to examine and collect data on to further this debate.
