This report, which consists of four articles, examines the current political and economic relationship between Ukraine and the EU. The first two articles provide alternatingly pessimistic and optimistic views of the relationship's status. The third article then focuses on the normative dimensions of Ukrainian governance and electioneering. It argues that the Ukrainian people are indeed more advanced in these areas than their government or domestic politics otherwise show. Finally, the last article analyzes the main obstacles to Ukrainian-European integration in the near- to mid-term.
