This report by the Peace and Security Council contains an analysis of the armed rebellion and coup d’état in Mali in April 2012 and de facto control the Tuareg have over the northern part of the country. It also contains an analysis of the relationship between North and South Sudan and an analysis of the political threat of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
