This article discusses Nigeria’s ethnic, religious, economic and political problems. The author argues that the United States should assist Nigeria in specific but indirect ways to help overcome its problems, which could serve both the interests of the United States and Nigeria. He concludes that US aid should focus on supporting specific programs and the sharing of expertise.
