This report discusses security challenges for the Japan-US alliance, as well as the regional dynamics affecting their relationship. It looks at the relations of both countries with each other as well as with other Asian countries and assesses the political cooperation and policy coordination between them. In concluding, the author argues that the US and Japan should improve bilateral communication and reaffirm and define their cooperation as an alliance to deal with the evolving security environment.
