This report looks at the Community‐based Forest Monitoring Project (CFMP) in Papua New Guinea and the objectives driving it. The authors explain the steps for biomass assessment and outline the reasons behind engaging communities in forest monitoring. They then present a summary of the results and observations from the analysis of sample plot measurements and conclude with an outlook of the project’s activities for 2013.
