This paper examines Indonesia’s efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change. It outlines the proposals and objectives of the 2012 REDD+ National Strategy, discusses legislation in Indonesian land use planning and forest development and highlights the role of donors, indigenous communities and social safeguards in the development process.
