This paper discusses the European Union (EU) and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) as two different regional cooperation models. Focusing on Poland and Sri Lanka, it compares the two models and concludes that the EU integration model and the Polish experience could serve as an inspiration for Sri Lanka and other members of SAARC to increase regional integration.
