This paper looks at the use of chemical weapons in Syria and the legal implications this has for Western governments. It examines the Geneva Protocol and international law as the legal basis for taking action against Syria and discusses the legality of intervening in Syria. It then looks at various options for a military intervention and the public opinion behind it.
