This paper discusses the UK's legal position on intervention in Syria. It addresses the legal conditions under which humanitarian intervention without authorization from the UN Security Council (UNSC) is permitted and concludes that it is not clear whether under current international law such conditions could and should be an alternative to Security Council authorization.
