This commentary discusses the potential US military response to an apparent chemical weapons attack by the Syrian government against its own people in 2013. The author argues that a US military strike should be limited in scale to avoid triggering a broader regional conflict. It should should also be included into a broader strategy that would lead to a political solution to the conflict.
