This anthology offers a comprehensive analysis of the challenges facing the European Union and the individual EU member states in their efforts to strengthen the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP). The book provides the reader with a broad understanding of the main issues affecting the further development of the ESDP and offers an overview of the emerging ESDP. The authors analyze "homeland security" in a European context and also provide further discussion of such issues as security strategy, military capabilities, and intelligence cooperation.
