Several verdicts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) which were decided in late 2012 and early 2013 led to new controversies in the region about the past wars, the issue of justice and the conditions for regional reconciliation. This book looks at the repercussions of the ICTY verdicts on the reconciliation processes and the implementation of the concept of transitional justice. It also analyzes the concrete impacts of the reconciliation issue on regional cooperation and the 'Europeanization' agenda. Additionally, it explores recent political developments and areas of regional peace-building in Kosovo, South Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania. The paper concludes with a set of policy recommendations.
