This report looks at economic integration in Latin America as a means of peacebuilding in the region. It explains that cross border resource project investments often face opposition from indigenous groups and local politicians. Larger investments from richer nations lead to accusations from these parties of "foreigners and multinationals stealing our resources". The author suggests that Norway could contribute to overcoming this tension by sharing its experience on indigenous rights and the geographical distribution of income from natural resources.
