This journal analyzes key bilateral relations in East Asia, including those involving the US, between May and August 2013. The articles focus on economic, political and security developments, which are all accompanied by a chronology of significant events occurring between the states in question during the four-month period. By providing interpretative analyses, as well as factual accounts of key events, this issue illuminates patterns in Asian bilateral relations and defines the impact they have on regional security.
