This paper discusses energy relations between Russia and the European Union. The authors analyze the impact of energy politics on the broader EU-Russia relationship and strategic partnership. The paper assesses Russia's capabilities as an energy supplier and examines the EU's position as an economic investor in Russia. The authors state that both sides must move away from such notions as "producer versus consumer" and work to make relations reciprocal and mutually supportive.
