This meeting note summarizes the key points that emerged from a seminar on security and development in the Sahel-Saharan region. The author examines the crisis in the region, especially in Mali, the responsibility of states in conflict, international and national response strategies, and how to promote sustainable security and development. She concludes by providing a summary of the recommendations made to overcome the delay of returning to sustainable peace and development in the Sahel.
