This paper looks at the implications of the US/NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan for Russia. The author argues that, although Russia will remain only a second tier actor in Afghanistan, it still has some identifiable interests and a limited role to play in the country, particularly when it comes to economic cooperation and security assistance. She outlines more closely what these interests are and proposes set of policy recommendations on how to go about achieving them.
