This paper discusses EU-Icelandic relations after the suspension of Iceland's EU membership negotiations in August 2013. The author outlines Iceland's as well as the EU's strategic interests in continued negotiations. He concludes by encouraging the EU to create a more political dimension to the currently, rather pragmatic basis, of their cooperation.
