This paper discusses the links between migration, development and conflict. It also considers the complex nature of mixed flow migration and the difficulties in distinguishing between forced/political or voluntary/economic migration. The author uses migration from Somalia as a supporting example, and details how the case of Somalia provides a basis for further discussion of potential changes in international migration regimes.
