This report looks at US national defense in the context of current fiscal realities and proposes 'strategic agility' as the best way to achieve US interests going forward. Strategic agility, the author contends, is the best way forward as it seeks to avoid involvement in ground wars and emphasizes technologically superior assets that can eliminate threats to the US and its allies. He goes on to provide 27 specific recommendations for implementing strategic agility that would save money, meet the budget levels required by law and eliminate the need for 'false economies' by 2015.
