This document reports on the Security and Defense Agenda debate "Beyond the Security vs Privacy Debate.” The participants analyze the issue of citizen and consumer trust in government in the light of the NSA scandal, contrasting law-breaking practices on the government side with the need for protection on the consumer side. The debate also covers the ethics of the internet and the impact of the new technologies on human society.
