This brief looks critically at Turkey's foreign policy since the beginning of the Arab uprisings. The author contends that the Turkish government has to some extent exacerbated what was already a very difficult situation and should return to its 'zero problems' policy which it successfully promoted before the uprisings. According to the author, this would allow Turkey to take into account the sheer complexity of the problems on its southern border as well as the difficult domestic political context.
