This analysis examines Spanish emigration patterns and claims that, contrary to the alarm spread by the media, only 2 percent of Spanish citizens left the country due to the financial crisis. She concludes that, compared to the populations of other countries, Spaniards have hardly emigrated and even internal mobility has been very slight since the 1980s.
