This paper explores the connection between governance and radicalization. The author explains how radicalization generally requires a set of supporting political and socio-economic conditions, as well as structural capacities in the form of finance, organizational networks, and guiding ideologies. The paper states that counter-radicalization policy must take into account long-term developments and prospects, and at the same time be capable of tracking the continuously evolving dynamics of radical and extremist ideology.
